Heh, this is what happens when you introduce AK to role-playing. Reintroducing my OC, Missent, Autobot courier and messenger.
I don't draw Missent as often as I should. My lines and perspective are all out of whack but it's waaaaay past my bedtime. I shouldn't have tried to color him.
This is an unusual look for Missent. Normally the poor inept mech is all stressed out and panicky. He must be having one of those rare good days
MISSENT'S PROFILE
SERIES: mostly G1 NAME: Missent GENDER: Male SPECIES: Cybertronian ALLEGIANCE: Autobot ALTERNATE MODE: Postal Truck (aka an LLV) HEIGHT: 24' FUNCTION: Courier QUOTE: Love it or hate it, it's just a job!
BIO: Missent has been working at the Post Office for years, but before he became a mail truck, he was a courier bot on Cybertron. When the war would escalate to the point where it became too risky to send tactical information via their own communications net, Missent would dash out and relay the messages himself. He would transport supplies and ammunitions one day and act as messenger the next. It was on Cybertron where he learned to recognize the importance of a speedy delivery, knowing that if he fails to deliver his messages he may lose his job or worse, lose the war.
On Earth, he's adapted to humans fairly well, he enjoys working with the human couriers and feels right at home sorting and delivering on the streets. Some may say he works so much with the humans as an excuse to hide from what should be his real concern, the war with the Decepticons. He's only doing what he knows best, being a courier. He still runs errands and messages for the Autobots, he's performing the same duties as he has always done, only this time, he's torn between his job and his duty. If any Decepticons try to get in the path of his appointed rounds, well, the mail must go through! No matter the cost. He may even go a little, as the humans say, 'postal' and get a little trigger happy when Decepticons are around.
Despite his complaints about his work, and he has a lot of them, doing a good job and receiving praise for his efforts are all he seems to care about. He doesn't even seem to notice how Emerarudo-Chan's character, Spokez, has a huge crush on him. Working too long with the humans, he's developed a sort of sour attitude and lewd sense of humor. He's a little shy at first but he likes to be social, with humans and other Transformers, and finds that laughing relieves alot of his at-work stress. He likes to listen to music while he's working, it relaxes him.
WEAPONS/ABILITIES: He carries a modified rifle which shoots armor piercing shells. In vehicle mode, he has rocket launchers that pop-up from his hood and roof. He was not designed for combat, but if needed, he can fight and defend himself fairly well. Some of his skills include his upper body strength, he's a fast sprinter, he's able to record and store new and old data, and he has excellent vision. He has easy access to maps and an onboard GPS. The antanae spikes on the sides of his helm filter in radio and CB frequencies, so sometimes they're titled unevenly because he gets lousy reception.
WEAKNESSES: He's clumsy, unfocused, unorganized, naive, and afraid dogs. He tries too hard to balance his responsibility as an Autobot and his work with the humans. He gets very forgetful and no matter what he tries to do he's very inept at nearly everything. It's amazing that his deliveries actually arrive on time and at the right place sometimes. In his Cybertronian vehicle mode he was very fast but his Earth vehicle is much slower. He gets moody and cranky from stress, and some nights he just gets depressed as if his life's in a repetitious rut, he can often be found at a bar or tavern drinking. Alot. He's an emotional drunk. When he's really sloshed, he'll tell you about the time he was chased by a dog for several blocks - supposedly, it was a very traumatic experience.
SAMPLE POST: It was the same predictable routine everyday: sort this, deliver that, it never ends. Only this time, his rounds brought him to Cybertron to pick up a list of supplies for the Earth-bound Autobots. He hurried along the Cybertronian streets and prepared to make his attempt at returning to Earth via the space bridge, but Shockwave had been less than thrilled to have the LLV careening through his base of operations. Undeterred, Missent was determined to maintain his mission. The Autobots needed supplies and he was dead-set on delivering. He swung around the corner, swerving as he barely avoided a blast by Shockwave, the contents of his storage space sliding around inside him. His chirped his tires and floored it, his Earthen vehicle mode accelerated very poorly, it was almost comedic had he not been under heavy fire by Shockwave and his guards. The space bridge was just in sight, he could make it. Another blast behind him impacted just under his rear bumper, lifting his tail end up and sending him rolling, he was out of control. He spun and slid until his side slammed against the wall. Shockwave approached him, arm outstretched toward the little white truck. Missent panicked and opened the hatch on his roof and fired his rockets, hitting the Decepticon and exploding upon his chest. Spinning his tires, he launched forward, his side door and mirrors scraping against the wall, and wove about beneath Shockwave's legs. He reached the space bridge and released a sigh of relief as the doors closed. And no one believed him that being a mail carrier was a dangerous job.
PFWAH! He's a USPS carrier?! And the name fits! Oh, rare good days, indeed.
